OUR TRIP TO LONDON - MARBLE ARCH

Since what we mostly did was ride the Hop-On, Hop-Off Bus, you will see that most of these pictures are taken from the bus.  It was such fun!   I told my husband he has to use his own camera from now on, since he didn't check that the camera was still on indoor from taking pictures in Paris at the Musee D'Orsay, thus the blueish color. :0+
The top picture is Marble Arch.  It was originally built as a gateway for the new Buckingham Palace, but in 1851 it was moved to its present location.  A popular story says that the arch was removed because the queen couldn't get her stagecoach to pass through it.  They are considering moving the arch again, possible across the street to Hyde Park, because now it sits on a large traffic island which does not promote the flow of traffic.
Next to Marble Arch is the Hyde Park Speaker's Corner.  This is a place where anyone can go and stand up and make a speech as long as the police think your speeches are lawful and your language is clean.    It seems to me that I remember reading in a book about early Mormon missionaries in London, that they used to go there and preach the gospel.  Who knows, maybe they still do.  I wanted my husband to take a picture of it but he wasn't able to get it.
The next picture is the Hop-On, Hop-Off Bus.  London is one of the cities with the most buses.  Look at the top picture and see all the buses.   There are 2 different Hop-On, Hop-Off bus companies, plus the city buses, plus ALL the charter sight-seeing buses.  I loved seeing the red double-decker city buses.  It reminded me of the Knight Bus in Harry Potter.  :0)

The next picture is a typical souvenir shop.
Hard Rock Cafe - London
The rest of these are some weird buildings we saw.  The first one, my husband calls the Faberge Egg building.

I would love to see London some day! Maybe I'm hoping I'll see a Diagon alley there. ;) Actually, I should plan to go to Disneyworld to see the Harry Potter world there. :) But someday I would like to go to the land of my ancestors: England and Wales.
