BATTLE OF THE BOYNE

I posted about The Battle of the Boyne back in April of this year, but after we took our US friends to Newgrange we went to the Battle of the Boyne, which is close by. We were surprised and happy to find out that they were having several live exhibitions while we were there. We were able to see two of them. The first one is an exhibition of how the old muskets worked back then. The second exhibitions was showing the kind of horses they had and how the officers fought while riding a horse. The person you see on the horse is actually a woman. :0) This was not a large horse - only about 14 hands. She said this horse was the kind of horses they had back then, but I can't remember what kind of horse it was. We really enjoyed watching the exhibitions!
