THE BEATLES EXPERIENCE

Last weekend we went to Liverpool and went to Albert Docks to The Beatles Story Experience. Unfortunately we forgot our camera, so all we had to take pictures with was my cell phone. These are pretty bad pictures, but you can at least get an idea of what the place was like. It was 12.50 pounds to get in and they are supposed to give you headphones and a little radio thing. Then you go around and push the number on the sign to listen to the story about the display you are looking at. There were so many people there we had to wait 20 minutes to get in and then when we went to get our headphones they were out of them. He handed me one of the radio things and told me to "hold it up to my ear". I said, "Are you kidding me?" He wasn't. Well, that lasted for about 15 minutes and then it got to be a real pain to do that because not only was your arm getting tired, it was noisy in there and you coulndn't hear real well. So finally I just turned mine off and looked at the displays. They had some cool stuff. The first place you see is the actual Cavern Club where the Beatles first started to play. Then they just had mock-ups of other places like their recording studio, and then album cover places. They had maniquins dressed to look like the Beatles and their guitars, etc. Then at the end was The Fab Four Store where they sold t-shirts and lots of Beatles memorabilla. I always wish I had bought more stuff the day after. We didn't take a lot of pictures, because we weren't sure how many my phone would hold. Anyway, here are the pics:

At the Cavern Club.

This is a really bad picture, but it's Abbey Road.

We all live in a Yellow Submarine..

The real captain of the Yellow Submarine.

Just resting my head on Paul's shoulder...He didn't mind. :0)

John's glasses:

John Lennon's white baby grand piano and guitar.

Yours truly outside the exhibit. :0)

These big things were just outside the building. I'm not sure what they were but it reminded me of submarine periscopes, so we took the pictures. I thought they should have painted them yellow, for the Yellow Submarine, but they really didn't have anything to do with the Beatles Story.

This is a tour you can take around the Docks and I'm not sure where else. After they do a land tour, this thing goes down in the water and does a water tour around the docks. Pretty fun to watch! They have one in Dublin also.
