Today after my morning walk, I decided to go to The Tea Room at the hotel for lunch. The Tea Room is actually called The Lord Mayor's Lounge, but I call it The Tea Room. It has couches and arm chairs pulled up to tables that you can sit in and eat lunch, dinner or have "tea". When I first got there it was kind of crowded so I just sat at a table since I had brought my book with me so I could read during lunch. By the time the waitress came to take my order, the table beside me and left and had been cleaned off so she asked me if I would like to sit there, since it was arm chairs. I did and moved over. It was right by the window and the sun was actually shining today and after I sat down just had a feeling of "Ahhhh!" go over me. As I sat there eating lunch and reading my book, I realized that the table next to me (couches and arm chairs by a low coffee table) had some kind of minor celebrity - I think a new playwright - and her manager and a newspaper reporter for the major newspaper here. The reporter was doing an interview. I caught phrases here and there, but I'm sorry, I was more interested in my book so really didn't pay attention. I figured even if I heard her name, I wouldn't know who she was. But I'll try and look in the paper we get each morning to see if I can find the interview and let you know!
Oh by the way, I had Potato and Leek soup and Roast Beef sandwich with horseradish and a Diet Coke. The Diet Coke comes in one of the original small greenish bottles they used to come in in the US - probably so they can charge more for them. :0)
