GREEN CARD

Well, we went to Immigration yesterday and I didn't get my green card. On the form, it makes it sound like what you are supposed to do is just tell Customs you are going to be here 30 days and they stamp your passport like that and then you apply for your green card. What you are supposed to do is tell them you are joining your husband, who is working here, they stamp your passport for 30 days and then you get a green card. That would have been helpful information had the Immigration office actually ever answered the phone the bazillion times my husband tried to call them before his last trip to the US. His co-workers from the US have had the same problem. Long story short - I now have to leave the country and then come back. This means we will probably go over to England or Germany after Christmas and spend the weekend and come back. Darn. It's a hard life but somebody's got to live it :0)
