FLOODING IN IRELAND

Yes, we've had lots of rain. Northern Ireland has been the worst hit. I heard that Galway and Cork had some bad flooding also. I had a friend go to Galway 2 weeks ago. She was supposed to be home last weekend but didn't come back. I wonder if she was not able to get home.
Today the sun actually shone for a good part of the day, although it did rain during the lunch hour. It hasn't been as bad here as it has in other parts of Ireland. I heard one report say this is the worst flooding in 30 years and then I heard another report say that this is the worst flooding in 800 years. 40 roads in Galway are still closed. I think in all of Ireland, 600 homes have been evacuated so far. I've also heard that the flooding is expected to get worse. It is still raining everyday and the flood waters are still rising. I know they have had to open the dams to let water out, which also makes it worse.
We don't have near the flooding other parts of Ireland has had. I saw one road closed over by Dublin, but it was a backroad and not a major one. We've had large puddles in roads, but that's about all.
