When I first moved to Ireland, I tried to get a library card at the library in my town. I couldn't get one because you needed a utility bill and we don't pay our own utilities. They are paid by our company. :0) I complained to my husband and he said he would talk to Relo and see what they could do. He finally got me a utility bill, but it has his name on it. :0+ So I just gave up the idea of a library card. I go into Dublin every so often - mostly on a Saturday. On the street where the Hard Rock Cafe is, they have a sort of little square and there are 3 used book dealers who put tables up there. I have been going there and buying several of their books.
The other day I was walking down the street in my town and noticed that the Library was having a used book sale. My friend and I went in and found that they were selling used hardbacks and paperbacks 3 for 2 euro. She bought 9 books and I bought 6. That was last week. Today I went by there again and saw that the sale was still on. I went in and bought 3 more books. :0) So now with the 3 books I brought back with me from the States at Christmas, I have 12 books. Well, I've read one already, so now I have 11 left. That should do me for awhile. Plus we're going into Dublin again this weekend! :0)
